The RPS 8874 Relay Test System from ITF-Engineering has been designed as an expansion to the existing range of ITF-Engineering key, and switch test and handling systems. Microprocessor controlled system cards are responsible for the internal management and
supervision of the complete test instrument. The system is especially suited to DC Relays with small to average power requirements and allows the classified measurements of all the relays parameters according to DIN 41640 and CECC-16000 standards.

Due to the modular concept of the RPS 8874, modifications and expansions to the system can be easily and economically realized at any time. Typical system applications are quality control, product supervision, product development, laboratory design work and incoming and outgoing goods inspection.

The test unit is housed in a 19" rack and comes standard with 8 electrical contact points for the connection to the relay under test. The relays are placed in the special adapter and electrically connected. Self Learning - The system will then automatically learn in the pin layout of the relay.

Simple operation and programming of measurement limits are possible using the accompanying keyboard in conjunction with the LC-Display. All test results and parameters are presented on the 8 x 40 LC-Display in a clear and easy to understand format, or with the optional GPIB interface module, directly on the host PC.
Some of the measurement parameters included are coil voltage, coil and contact assignment, coil and contact definition, coil and contact test, etc. Some of the limit values available are holding excitation, coil resistance, contact times, bounce characteristics, activation and release voltages, etc. The activation of the relay coils can be either static or dynamic.

The modular design concept enables the evaluation of relays with different drive and testing requirements. The system can therefore be easily expanded from the basic hand operated measuring station up to a fully automated computer controlled test system. The RPS 8874 can be fully integrated with a contacting or pick and place Robotic cell from ITF-Engineering to automate these test procedures.
